You referred to yourself as “Jigsaw”… Never quite made sense to some of us but it is clear now.
You were that puzzle of intricate, unique pieces that somehow ended up putting things together. Your absence alone has brought us as a family much closer than we could have ever fathomed and for that we are eternally grateful.
We battle with all sorts of emotions and thoughts here and there, like “Why you?” “Why so soon?” “What if this …” and “What if that…”
But Dauda, your demise has served as a testimony to us each and every day.
Although we are left with numerous unanswered questions, one thing we do know is that there is a God and he has not forgotten us.
But at the end of it all, we give thanks.
5 years today…
Memories are still fresh; the pain still hits deep within.
5 years today…
we remember you, Dauda Fearon – the joker, the adventurous one…the “prodigal son”
There are so many words one can use to describe you, but one thing that we know is that you were a force to be reckoned with.
You were never afraid of taking risks; you never liked deliberating upon the cons.
Optimistic is an understatement; you was the epitome of the word “alive”.
A soul that connected with both the young and old;
A soul that effortlessly left an imprint in the hearts of those you met.
We could go on and on about you but the fact remains – You are no more here with us.
Your short-lived journey has taught us life lessons: the fragility of life and the essence of time.
Time to love one another, not just with our words, but through our actions.
Time to be the best we can be.
Time to make the most of what we have.
Time to put in all we’ve got to get what we want.
Dauda, we thank you enormously.
For sharing so much of yourself with us, we thank you.
For the memories we created, we thank you.
For helping us to understand you even when we thought we couldn’t, we thank you.
For those 24 years, Dauda, we thank you.
Rest in peace our dear son and our dearest brother.
May you continue to rest in the everlasting hands of the Almighty!
Your loving family.
