The Memorial Medical Foundation
Dauda Fearon Memorial Medical Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to supporting underprivileged medical students in Kaduna, Nigeria. Its mission is to nurture a generation of committed medical leaders, to enable scientific breakthroughs and to translate discovery into treatment and therapies that will deliver striking advances for the health of Kaduna and beyond.
The Dauda Fearon Memorial Medical Foundation was an idea conceived by the family following the untimely death of Dauda in November 2008. While talking and reflecting on the tremendous support we have received we decided the best way to keep Dauda’s legacy strong was to give back to society. Dauda was an adventurous person, in the summer of 2006 he went on a mission trip to Israel, where he worked with children affected by conflict and war. This visit had a profound effect on his life and he always talked about going back to help those children.
Dauda was training to be a medical doctor and had an overarching aspiration to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge and strengthen healthcare delivery for underprivileged patients and their families.
The Dauda Fearon Memorial Medical Foundation has three transformational goals:
- To provide financial assistance to underprivileged medical students.
- To create awareness and fight diseases such as meningitis.
- To help children in war torn countries especially Israel.
By supporting the Dauda Fearon Memorial Medical Foundation, you will be helping to achieve these goals, bringing lasting benefits to Kaduna state, its region and beyond. There are many ways to get involved, from making a one-off pledge to setting up a regular donation or remembering the Foundation in your legacy. Whatever you decide, you can be sure that your contribution will make a real difference either to the charity as a whole or to a campaign of your choice if there is an area that you already feel strongly about. In return, there are naming opportunities, a Founders’ Club with a Roll of Benefactors and much more.
